CEPCO

Statcom Madina Project

CEPCO signed a contract with SEC to supply and commission 2 x 20 MVAR STATCOM units across four substations—Khaybar (energized), Hanakiyah and Al Mowyah (in testing), and Al Ays (under construction)—offering fast, efficient voltage control and high dynamic response.

CEPCO STATCOM Installation and Commissioning for SEC

CEPCO has entered into a contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to deliver, install, test, and commission two 20 MVAR STATCOM units across four substations: Khaybar, Hanakiyah, Al Ays, and Al Mowyah.

Substation Status

  • Khaybar Substation: Both STATCOM units have been successfully energized
  • Hanakiyah and Al Mowyah: Currently in the testing and commissioning phase
  • Al Ays: In the construction phase

About STATCOM

STATCOM, or Static Synchronous Compensator, is an advanced technology known for its high efficiency and reliable voltage control across a wide range of operating conditions. It provides exceptional dynamic performance with rapid response time, delivering maximum reactive current across varying voltage levels to enhance grid stability and power quality.
