Tuwaiq project

The Tuwaiq Project connects the RIC 2 BSP substation to a new 115kV substation via 4.2 km of underground circuits, including complete upgrades to the protection, SCADA, and communication systems at both sites.

TUWAIQ Project – Connection of BSP RIC 2 Substation to TUWAIQ Casting and Forging Facility

The TUWAIQ Project involves connecting the existing BSP RIC 2 Substation to the new 115 kV Substation at the TUWAIQ Casting and Forging Facility. Key aspects of the project include:

Substation Connection

  • Establishment of two underground circuits using fiber optic cable (FOC), spanning approximately 4.2 km

Scope at NG Room (New Substation) for Line Protection

  • Installation of two new protection panels
  • Installation of a new SOE (Sequence of Events) panel
  • Installation of a new SCADA panel
  • Installation of a new Annunciator panel
  • Installation of a new TFR (Transformer) panel
  • Installation of a new MPLS system

Modification and Installation at Existing RIC 2 Substation for Line Protection

  • Installation of new protection panels
  • Modifications to the SAS, TFR panels, and MPLS at the existing RIC 2 Substation to ensure compatibility and integration with the new 115 kV Substation and to enhance line protection
